Yalisaï is a young artist from Guadeloupe, a small pearl with the shape of a butterfly surrounded by the clear waters of Caribbean.She is inspired by Afro-Caribbean music such as reggae, soul, hip-hop. Her instrument is her voice,Clear and sparkling she uses it to sing love, peace and to share her traditions. Yalisaï’s consuming passion for music was nurtured since her childhood. As far as she can remember, she always bathed in chords and harmonies. But we can notice That the young mixed race women has a preference for the African-American and Caribbean soul music, the fruit of a rich musical education provided by her parents who are music’s lovers.Nothing surprising them more that the young women created her Firsts compositions at the age of 12. One of the reasons why she adopted ”Yalisaï” an original Tamil name which means melodious. A few years later, came the time of first collaboration.Yalisaï will meet DJ Sky, Kidkurs Cool Jazz, Kris with whom she will share a few tracks that unfortunately will not be edited. It will be what she called: learning time. Then in 2000, her talent has been discovered during a studio session by an accomplished and recognized artist”Jean-Michel Rotin” That music’s genius knows how to recognize talents when he meets them.
And thanks to the confidence he carries, continuing his musical adventure Yalis alongside artists such as Daly, Fuckly Riddla or with whom she recorded several tracks on their respective projects.
In 2009, she appeared as a lead on the track “Neva Forget” on the compilation named “Sweet Summer Riddim produced by Don Jahlys.
Today,Yalisaï prepares her 1st album that she carefully makes especially for us. This album in which she is using French, Creole and English will be no doubt at that young artist image, a mix of languages and musical influence that surely will allow the caribbean music that she represents to go as far as possible.With this first project, Yalisaï has now a new tool to spread her message of hope: “To all those whostruggle to succeed, never give up!!
